The Defensive Driving Course offered by the Drivers Safety Program is six hours long and is presented in one or two classroom sessions. (Note: Motorcycle safety/accident prevention courses may be substantially longer.) Essential information about traffic safety issues such as driver attitude and behavior, defensive driving techniques, and the Vehicle & Traffic Law will be presented in each course. Additional content may be covered. No formal testing is required to complete the course.


Download Registration Form HereThe program is a 6-hour course. During the week, the course is held on two separate evenings from 7PM to 10PM. You must attend both sessions to qualify for the insurance/point reduction. On weekends the class is offered in one day and runs from 9AM to 3:30PM which includes two breaks and ample time for lunch. There are no testing requirements to successfully complete the course; however, your participation the sessions is appreciated. It is also important that you are on time for class since you must be present for the entire 6 hours in order to be certified. Also when you come to class, please bring a pen and your drivers license or permit.


To register for the 6-hour Defensive Driving Course, select a class location and date from the schedule, then download, print and complete the registration form. Mail the completed form along with a check or money order in the amount of $50.00 per person made payable to Drivers Safety Program. Please complete a registration form for each person attending. You will be considered registered when payment is received.


$50.00 per student in the form of a personal check or money order made payable to Drivers Safety Program. One check is also acceptable for 2 or more people, and please write your class date on your check. Your registration and payment must be received as soon as possible to reserve your seats.


Upon receipt of your Registration Form and payment for each student, your class instructor will be notified of your attendance. You will not be contacted by us prior to your class. We will only contact you if your class is cancelled or already full, at the phone numbers you list on your Registration Form.


If you cannot attend your scheduled class, this office must be notified 7 days prior to your class date. Thereafter, all transfer requests will incur a $15 administration fee. The transfer fee must be paid prior to your new class date and you can only reschedule one time. All requests for class transfers will be handled on a space-available basis. Failure to attend your rescheduled class will result in forfeiture of all monies paid. Refunds will incur a $25 administration fee if this office is not notified 7 days prior to class date. All class transfers and rescheduling must occur within 3 months of your original class date. Thereafter, no refunds will be allowed.
